Services & Activities

Age Concern Wirral runs a number of Services & Activities from different sites across the borough.

The Devonshire Resource Centre, 141 Park Road North, Birkenhead provides day care, lunch clubs, home support service, support for carers, the bathing service and phonelink. They can be contacted on 0151 653 4404.

The Active Age Centre, Grange Baptist Church, Whetstone Lane, Birkenhead aims to promotes an active, healthy lifestyle. They have a variety of classes and therapies to suit all tastes and also arrange day trips and holidays.  They can be contacted on 0151 647 3537.

Support Services at Headquarters, 42/44 Market Street, Birkenhead offer high quality Information and Advice, an Advocacy service and are committed to the involvement of older people and campaigning on their behalf.  A comprehensive range of fact sheets on a wide range of issues are also available. Pensall House, Fairview Way, Pensby, CH61 6YQ provides social group activities,   educational classes, massage therapies computer courses and crafts. Also available is a wide range of services for older people who are physically frail or socially isolated, and people with dementia. Bathing service and Specialist care with support is also available. Our drop-in service offers a wide range of information and advice about issues affecting later life, including assistance with welfare benefits. This service is free, impartial and completely confidential. We can advise on areas including health, housing, money, legal issues, care services, local services, aids & adaptations and much more. Harvest Court, Harvest Court, Berrylands Road, Moreton, CH46 7UD provides social group activities, educational classes, massage therapies, computer courses and crafts. A wide range of services for older people who are physically frail and/or socially isolated are available along with bathing service and specialist care with support. There are café facilities available Monday to Friday 9 am to 3 pm and coming soon is specialist Alz’s Café on Mondays for people with dementia and their carers.
